    DVR specializes in employment and training services to assist you in becoming employed.

    To be eligible, you must have a physical or mental impairment that causes problems with working and need VR services to be successfully employed. A VR counselor will determine your eligibility for services. Once eligible, you will work with a counselor who will help you develop a plan for your rehabilitation.

    Legal Assistance & Estate Planning
    Seminars on guardianship and other topics of interest to caregivers through the Family Support department. Community awareness activities are available to meet the needs of groups, businesses, or clubs. A monthly newsletter is available with a calendar of events and topics of interest to enrolled families.

    Long term care planning materials are available through the In-Home/Family Support department and are free of charge to families in Jefferson County who have a loved one with a developmental disability.

    NextStep Employment Services assists adults with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment as well as the transition from school to work.

    This family reimbursement program offered through the In-Home/Family Support department is a partnership between NextStep, JCDDRB and the St. Louis Regional Office (SLRO). Service coordinators from either SLRO or JCDDRB refer families in Jefferson County who could benefit from this relief or respite care.

    Specializes in helping adults learn and develop social interaction and the “soft” pre-employment skills needed for better community access, community involvement and greater vocational success using a social, leisure and education format. This program focuses on adults with learning disabilities, high functioning Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, written & expressive disorders and associated developmental disabilities with an IQ of 71 and above.

    The St. Louis Arc provides informational workshops for individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and advocates from September through May each year. Workshop topics vary each month.

    Aspergers Syndrome
    The St. Louis Arc also offers Meet Up Groups twice a month for kids and youth with Aspergers Syndrome and their families.

    Various support & networking groups are also offered.

    Pre-employment
    The St. Louis Arc’s Employment Services supports adults in seeking part- and full-time paid employment, provides initial and ongoing job coaching and retention services and works with employees and their supervisors to ensure successful job placements.  Also offered are the Teens in Motion and Neighborhood experience projects for young adults ages 13—20. 

    ARCH
    Families are reimbursed for care for an individual with a developmental disability. Funding is available for residents of St. Louis County.

    Capable Kids and Families (St. Louis Arc)
    A program designed to promote early intervention by providing children ages 0-6 and families with developmentally appropriate toys and therapeutic equipment free-of-charge, connecting families to community resources that meet their needs and facilitating network building and supportive friendships among parents.

    Behavior/Intervention Therapy

    Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)
    An intensive early intervention program for toddlers, 14 to 36 months of age, who have been diagnosed with autism.

    Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services
    Provides consultation and direct services to reduce or increase targeted behaviors ages 15 months to 13 years

    After Care Program
    After school care and support for students with developmental disabilities, ages 10-21 at the Manchester location. Monday thru Friday from 2-6 pm

    Summer Day Camp in St. Louis County
    Summer care for teens and pre-teens (ages 10 to 20) with developmental disabilities. Camp is offered weekdays June through early August.

    Independent Supported Living - Providing any or all supports necessary for persons with developmental and or physical disabilities to live independently in their own home and the community of their choice.

    Pre-employment
    UCP Heartland’s Employment Resources Program supports adults with disabilities in finding and retaining competitive employment. The Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP) offers high school students an opportunity to obtain work experience prior to graduation.

    Accessibility Modification
    Kids Are Riding Safely (KARS) - UCP’s specialized car seat loan program ensures infants and older children with disabilities ride in vehicles safely. We can ease your mind and enable your family to travel together in one vehicle. The average cost of a specialized car seat is $500 which can be a financial hardship for families to purchase. With a small deposit and a physician's prescription, your family can borrow the car seat for six months or longer, depending on the child's needs.

    Marlborough Hall offers short term stays for people with physical and/or developmental disabilities who live in St. Louis City and Jefferson, St. Charles, & St. Louis Counties. Open year round. Emergency residential services are also available.

    Therapy—Occupational, Physical, & Speech
    Adult Day Services - Day habilitation offered at two locations (Manchester & Olivette) and in the community.  Participants learn skills that promote their independence. Speech and physical therapy assessments and services are available.
